Training outdoors: ideas with portable resistance bands

When the weather gets warmer, our bodies crave movement in the sun. Parks, beaches, gardens, and even rural areas become ideal settings to keep training without losing momentum. But to ensure that freedom doesn't compromise effectiveness, the right equipment makes all the difference. That's why portable resistance bands have become one of the best allies for outdoor workouts.

Why train outdoors?

  • The environment changes the experience : training in nature activates the senses, improves mood and reduces stress.

  • Make the most of your free time : some bands, a backpack, and the desire to move. That's all you need for a great session.

  • You can train anywhere : no facilities or electricity needed, just your body and adequate resistance.

What materials are recommended?

At Murtra Sport we have several options designed to maximize effectiveness outdoors:

  • Mini Loop Band : ideal for working glutes, hips and core with low-impact but high-activation exercises.

  • Multigrip Resistance Band : versatile and with multiple grips, it allows you to work your upper body, lower body and mobility.

  • Power Loop Band : more resistant, perfect for functional strength, pulling sprints or pushing exercises.

  • Resistance Band Kit : all in one for a complete routine wherever you are.

Lightweight, compact and easy to clean, they are perfect to carry in your backpack and train anywhere.

Proposed outdoor functional routine

A good session with bands can include:

  1. Activation

    • Sidewalk with Mini Loop Band (3 x 10 steps per side)

    • Squat + hip opener with band

  2. Force

    • Rowing with band anchored to a tree or bench (3 x 12)

    • Frontal resistance lunges (3 x 10 per leg)

    • Shoulder press with Power Band (3 x 12)

  3. Core

    • Planks with band opening (3 x 30 seconds)

    • Crunch with traction (3 x 15)

  4. Mobility

Practical tips

  • Always carry a towel or thin mat for areas with soil or grass.

  • Hydrate before, during, and after your workout.

  • Use sunscreen if you're going to train during the middle of the day.

  • Vary your surroundings: it doesn't always have to be the park. A beach, an open area, a pine forest, or even an urban viewpoint can provide variety and motivation.

Portable treadmills don't just make movement easier: they liberate it. They're the perfect excuse to transform any space into a small personal gym. Outdoors, with fresh air and room to move.

Do you already know where you're going to train tomorrow?
